![]() As an alternative way of trying to restoring my backup, I manually relocated the folder containing the whole backup from my laptop and transferred it to: 1) The SD-card in my phone and 2) an external usb drive (which can be directly connected to my phone). It has been updated with the latest Samsung firmware. I have no apps installed on my phone since the factory reset. I tried installing Smart Switch on another laptop and neither that laptop could establish a durable connection to my phone. I tried the same tweaks and tricks as mentioned before, but I gave up. I performed a factory reset on my phone and since then, I couldn’t manage to establish a successful connection between the two devices again. I run Android 11 on a Samsung galaxy A50 and connect it to my Windows 10, fully updated laptop. exe in ‘Windows 8 compatibility mode’, I finally established a durable connection and could backup my files. Eventually, after reinstalling both the app on Android and on my Windows laptop, after playing around toggling USB-debugging mode on and off, after wiping cache space of both my android phone and Windows laptop, and ultimately running the Smart Switch. The problem was that the Smart Switch app kept crashing. I succeeded doing this yesterday, after numerous attempts though. ![]() I read some articles on how to backup your Android data using Smart Switch.
